Silver and Community Voice in PR or Earned Media Campaign, Technology, for the MIRI book campaign
DEY.’s campaign for If Anyone Builds It, Everyone Dies, the Machine Intelligence Research Institute’s book on the risks of superintelligent AI, is a finalist in the 6th Annual Anthem Awards, in the PR or Earned Media Campaign category for Technology.
DEY.’s campaign for the Machine Intelligence Research Institute (MIRI) and Eliezer Yudkowsky and Nate Soares’s book If Anyone Builds It, Everyone Dies has won a Silver Anthem Award and an Anthem Community Voice Award at the 6th Annual Anthem Awards. Both honors are in the PR or Earned Media Campaign category, part of the awards’ Responsible Technology cause area. Winners were announced on November 5, 2026, and the full entry is in the Anthem Winners Gallery.
The Anthem Awards, presented by The Webby Awards, recognize mission-driven work from people, companies, and organizations worldwide. Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners are selected by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences. The Community Voice Award is decided by the public: in each category, it goes to the finalist that receives the most support during the public voting period, which this year closed on October 29. This year’s awards drew more than 2,500 entries from 43 countries.
The campaign used the book’s launch to bring the risk of unaligned superintelligent AI to a broader public and policy audience. The work combined message development, national media relations, Capitol Hill convenings, creator partnerships, stakeholder outreach, and targeted digital content. The book reached the New York Times bestseller list in its first week. More of DEY.’s work in this area is on the firm’s artificial intelligence page.
The DEY. team on the campaign included Rimjhim Dey, Taylor Scott, Kavita Tomlinson, Andrew DeSio, Annie Tressler, Jessica Zagacki, Kaitlyn Monahan, and Skye Levine.
