CLIMATE + ENVIRONMENT

Climate in an Era of Competing Crises

Interpreting the environmental forces redefining politics, economics, health, and human security.

Climate and environmental pressures now shape nearly every major societal challenge, whether explicitly acknowledged or not. Questions of migration, public health, infrastructure, geopolitics, technological development, and much more are increasingly inseparable from environmental reality. At the same time, climate communication has become markedly more complex. Political polarization, public fatigue, competing crises, and the sheer scale of the problem have made it harder for institutions to sustain attention and collective engagement around an issue many audiences feel simultaneously overwhelmed by and unable to ignore.

Our work reflects a deep understanding of how climate, nature, and the environment intersects with broader systems of power, policy, finance, and human behavior. We engage issues ranging from extreme heat as a humanitarian crisis to climate resilience, decarbonization, biodiversity, and the protection of ecosystems essential to long-term human stability. Rather than relying on abstraction or catastrophe alone, we help shape narratives that connect environmental realities to the everyday political, economic, and cultural concerns that increasingly define public life.

The team at DEY. transcend your concept of what a public relations firm is and does. The approach, with creative and unconventional thinking, and deep, authentic relationships that shape how they operate supports their ability to help you identify the paths to influence with the right messages and assets. My organization measurably changed the global conversation and built awareness of climate-driven extreme heat in a very short time—this awareness led to policy changes and lives saved.

Rimjhim and her team are a delight and dynamos of creativity. They are always thinking, thinking, thinking on how to convey a message, reach an intended audience, educate the public, build a consensus, and generally engage with the public and the policy debate. In a word, amazing.

Usually, journalists do their best to avoid pitches from PR agencies. However, DEY. is the thinking person's PR firm. I have found the people represented by DEY. to be original and thought-provoking.

Working with DEY. has shown me how much progress depends on sharpening ideas before they meet the world. They have an uncommon ability to hear what you’re trying to say, challenge what isn’t quite working, and help build ideas into their strongest, most resonant form. DEY are exceptional partners—thoughtful coaches who offer candid, constructive feedback that pushes the work further without diluting its edge. Just as important, they know how ideas actually travel. Their dense network of journalists, thinkers, and cultural amplifiers allows strong ideas to reach far beyond their point of origin. DEY consistently delivers outsized impact by pairing intellectual rigor with real-world influence, making them invaluable collaborators for anyone serious about innovation.

The DEY. team is unique to say the least. They cut through distractions, identify core issues and then get to work using their infinite energy, considerable intelligence and network of amazing contacts. For the United Nations Millennium Campaign, that meant well-placed op-eds and interviews, key meetings, and even the UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, appearing on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Their impact was exactly why, when I moved to the World Bank, I brought DEY. on again to curate high-impact, highly selective opportunities for our executive leadership. On top of it all, they’re a joy to work with. I recommend them without reservation.

I came to DEY. with something I cared about deeply: a message about climate and what it means for parents and families that I knew needed to reach a much wider audience. The DEY. team took the time to understand my ideas, my voice, and where I could have the most impact, then thought carefully about how it all fit together, from my own content and social media presence to the bigger conversations I should be part of and the right places to show up. I am grateful for their creativity, their patience, and their care.
